Me again. Can't keep away today..
Forgot to mention this. I lost some data from my 'pooter (aside: when will I ever learn? Actually, apparently this time as I am now backin' up like a good'n) recently because of hard drive failure, and this included all of my music and videos.
Disaster.
Luckily I had all my music and videos on my iPod. Except that Apple, in all their infinite wisdom*, decide that I can't copy my music back from the iPod, because I might be tempted to be naughty if the decision was given to me.
At first I thought the only option was to find some software that would do it for me. And whaddaya know, I can't find any that's free. Stoopid programmers thinking I should pay for their hard work!
But of course, Apple can't remove the ability to copy music altogether. They can just make it bloody difficult.
Long story short. Umm. Long story not quite as long: I found this site that tells you how to do it all for free. YAY!
Here it is!.
So now you know..
overandouch
*bloody corporation being all corporationy..

I know. I did it on a PC once long ago.
In actual fact the mechanism for getting the files off is fairly similar, it's just that Apple go to greater length than Windows to keep their hidden files hidden.
Which is an odd reversal of roles actually..

Takes 5 mins to start up, that's if the power button agrees to work. Bit hit and miss,
New one on order.
Oh sorry, thought this was macwoes.com....
