honestly..

Where's all these blogging? That's what I'd like to know.

I went to see Snakes on a Plane today. Good stuff. I had an idea for a film whilst I was watching it. "Snakes in a Cinema Whilst Watching Snakes on a Plane". That's mad skillxz right there. Can you imagine people jumping because of snake attacks and then really they're being bitten by snakes under their seats. That's just too mad. Please.

Right gotta go entertain. I'm an entertaining kinds of guy.

not really

Suffering from a dearth of anything to write aboot. So I'm doing the usual and writing anyway. Actually I mostly do that with talking. I digress.

I should do some more features™. Maybe not. Maybe I'm just too dang lazy.

All tracks are sent off to the mixer now. Album is becoming more imminent. Although I guess it's been doing that since the start.

bank holiday

I know, I know. The title's a little conventional. But then maybe by being conventional I'm being unconventional if you catch my meaning..

We just had drinks at Hawksville. And a game of Chain Reaction. Which may just be the best board game ever created. No word of a lie my friendly friends.

Oh yeah, I don't know where this is all headed but I'm sure it's someplace good. I mean the more Hawkins on the Webbernet the better, right?

Right. Cricket training very early tomorrow followed by a week of part slobbliness and part workliness. I'd better get to bed. Not least because my nose just started streaming. Fact, fans!

backflashes

So here's some bits and pieces for you this Tuesday evening.

Does anyone remember how I had to learn a song around about this time of year for a wedding? No? Really? Do you, like, not read this thing at all? Ok, well I will refresh your memory for you.

Anyways, the task this time this year is to learn five songs for a wedding. Dash garn. That's a lotta listening to the Supremes not to mention Katrina and her good old The Waves. Right now I'm in the study listening. And supposebly learning. Or at least so Elbs believes. Don't tell her but I'm actually talking to you good people out in la-la-land. Shhh..

Also, I believe back in March of this year I referred to a curious studio-induced phenomenon. Well I'm here to tell you right here right now: if you spend even more time in the studio and if you spend that time bouncing each song into its component tracks one at a time in realtime.. well.. the effect is more pronounced is all I can say.

All of which brings me to the end of the post.. Yup yup that's right.

Oh. Just before I finish, I realised that I've had a few comments in the last few months (going back to May actually - I feel sheepish) that to all intents and purposes I have ignored. Well I did read them and I did have good intentions. It's just.. well you know. Regardless:
Chris - Thanks for the birthday message. I got the hockey jersey. It's awesome. We're probly playing somewhere at somepoint. Who knows where and when but we got an album out soon. Yay!
Nidaba - Thanks for your kind comment. Model Engine are seriously great and should not have broken up. Not sure where the best place to get the model engine track is. Frank Tate might know.
Heather - Message passed on to El. You could contact her through her blog as well though. Check further down my blog for a link.
Probably some others - Sorry. I do read them. I'm just carp.

Also State of Fear by Michael Crichton is a good read. I don't care what people say.

The end and out

you don't know

So much I could say. So much I'm not going to.

Suffice it to say it was a good weekend. There was foop-ball, cricket, friends, wine and Chain Reaction. What more could you want.

Oh yeah, an animated gif involving the sparks flying. YAY!

job done

That's it. Farewell GWS, my work here is done. We've got a couple weeks of albumness before new job kicks in. Huzzah.

If you are here for horsefly bite information I figure I at least owe it to you to give you a little information concerning mine. From what I know the little blighters like to live near water as it is where they like to breed. Rather than jab you like a mosquito they will slash at you with two scissory-knivey type implements and then lap your blood. Where a mosquito may well miss pain receptors, with a horsefly bite they're likely to have hit a few.

As regards my own delightful encounter, here's what happened. Myself and the band were down at Bluewater discussing various aspects relating to the upcoming album (including the name, Please Intervene - fact, fans!) and we wandered down to one of their little lakes. I got a sharp pain in the fleshy part of my right hand below the thumb and I insticively slapped my left hand onto the insect. I assumed I'd made what I thought was a mosquito bite worse because I slapped it. It stung for the rest of that evening.

The area became swollen and for the next 2-3 weeks troubled me with itching and stinging pains.

I can confirm that I did, in fact, scratch the wound.

I still have a slight scar. And a hatred of horseflies.

So if ya have been bitten. Don't worry about it. I survived and you can too. In fact if you want to send me a link to a picture I'll put it up and we can all.. STOP. Just kidding. That's not gonna happen

I almost forgot to say.. The one poor quality photo that I have is here. In all its glory. If I'd have known what this would do to my webbernet standings I would have taken some better pictures.

Holy cow. I am boring. I'm sending myself to sleep.

And on that note..

Operation shuteye commences in t minus 5 minutes and counting.

Overandout.

welcome to the real world..

Howdy.

Guess who shipped up in the real world the other day? You may be able to guess from the picker. You will check out esmh.blogspot.com.

One day everyone will post all their thoughts and feelings onto the internets and that is how we will know about each other. Also we will know what people think about us from their comments. Or lack thereof. :P

The world has such glory in store for it. PHAREEEL.

On a side note, anyone who was interested in what I said about horsefly bite searches leading to people coming here, check out all the searches that have done just that:

craziness. Has the world gone mad? Maybe from now on I should only post horsefly bite pictures.. I've got to get people here somehow. Why? I can't tell you that yet. It will become apparent.

the problem

You see the source of my trouble is not the glass of wine. Nor delightful company.

The trouble is the tendency of the combination to induce conversations from which I can't remove myself because of interest.

That and the tendency to go on the internets when I get home.

Work day tomorrow. Ho hum..

Letters to the Future

I forgot to say before. I'm back safely and soundly. All good my friends. The mistake was in the title. It's Die Schweiz. Unless I meant "to Switzerland!" type thing in which case Der would be right. But I didn't. I guess I could say I did. But I'd be lying.

We got a provisional final mix for one of the album songs back last week and I heard it at the weekend. Hoh boy! It's gonna sound rursthi! Yes yes. It's all going to plan.

What else? Oh yeah, I'm having problems listening to any news at the moment. I just get angry with people. We were listening to something about what makes people want to blow themselves and lots of people up and someone rang in of the opinion that the big problem was religion because it allowed people with authority to brainwash people. Yes! Of couse! you're right, religion is the only thing in the world that gives corrupt people that opportunity. coughSCHOOLSGOVERNMENTTHEMEDIASPORTSCLUBSSCOUTSYOURJOBANDICOULDGOONcough. The problem is never the organisation. The problem is that the world is full of people who only have room for themselves and their hate. Please note that that was the world. Wherever you go, whatever country, whatever religion (including atheism), whatever whatever. You'll find them everywhere.

Jesus knew. Love God, love others. And if that rankles with you I don't care. Don't care.

I'm done. For now.

omissions, corrections and so on..

I was walking along somewhere or other the other day when all of a sudden I realised my hideous mistake on Saturday's post. Needless to say we don't believe in rewriting the past here at tobiwan.co.uk so the error will remain. But now you all know I am aware of my shameful weakness.

Just incidentally has anyone actually spotted said mistake? I would imagine most of you wouldn't. No offence.

Well.. Not much :P

Home tomorrow. Long drive.

Byezies.

well well

I have found the internets again. But sadly due to rain I spent most of the last couple of days indoors. So there isn't much to report.

We're in Wengen. Which is where we used to come skiing. Apart from I haven't been here in four years. And there's no snow :(

We also found this cool little bar with free internet. As long as you buy something. Which I'm cool with.

Anyway. Time is nearly up so I'ma shoot off again. Take care

Der Schweiz

Hello howdy.

Or Grüße indeed. I'm in Switzerland. Internets is limited over here so there has not been as much blogging. As you'd expect. But there are photos and so on that will doubtless be uploaded when I get back..

I am having good times. We saw a big off waterfall and I walked for, oh gosh, hours, all the way to the top of the Faulhorn. And there are no horseflies in sight at present.

Well gotta go. The Windows 95 PC that I'm on (I kid you not) may well explode from my brilliance if I'm on it for too long!
